OMG I'm posting from work.... gah!! Not much going on except people calling in to pay their bills. Got busy one time, but other than that... I just don't like leaving people on hold is all. Anyway, one crazy, senile old woman called in and I thought I'd share our conversation. Me: Good morning, City of W-- Lady: Can I speak to Smith*? Me: There's no one here by that name. Lady: I wanna talk to Smith! Me: Ma'am, there's a code enforcement officer named Wayne Smith*, but Smith is his last name. (oooooooong pause, like almost 10 seconds) Lady: Well how are you this morning, beautiful? Me: Ma'am, I think you have the wrong number. Lady: (shouts) NO I DON'T! (short pause) Good bye. (hangs up) *Name changed to protect identity Now what in the world could that have been about?! I'm at another job where I wish I had caller id. At least I'd know what home she was in and could tell them a patient is loose and making phone calls. *rolls eyes* Oh well. I'll go back to trying to find something to occupy my time now.... already filled in my 2010 calendar... tum tee tum.... Ciao. ~SAMI~ Tags: old lady, phone call Current Location: Work PC Current Mood: bored Current Music: Me talking on phone

STEAM!
I buy a game I want to play and I have to register on line. I'm okay with that. But When a game I want to play requires Steam, I can't play it without being connected. I don't play games online; the connection here is poor. It is slow, and it drops out occasionally, like when there is a really heavy summer thunderstorm.
Oh no! The internet has gone out again, I'll play a game instead. SORRY! The game you paid for and installed on your systems and you have the original disks for WON'T WORK because you need the bloody internet to play games on your pc.
So I buy Empire Total War. Oh goody! I'll install that. Oh,need to register it, no problem. Bugger, it's a Steam account. Right! Installed, Registered, Verified and now I'll... wait SIX FRIGGING HOURS while Steam decides the new game I bought needs to be updated. I didn't ask for updates. I don't want special services available to online users. I just want to play a game, dammit, and I want to play it on my PC at any time I bloody well want to play.
And the worst part is I'm installing it on my laptop. The laptop I will be using when I go to remote areas, so I'll have something to do.
You know, those remote areas with NO INTERNET.
Can't help feeling ripped off.

So, I'm hoping, maybe, hopefully, that I might be able to fulfil my promise of posting here more. I've graduated now, and dying to do more art. There will be definite art while I'm unemployed, and I'm hoping to keep it steady once I'm working too. Some things about the format of posts will change. The majority of posts will be of sketches and works in progress, and they will be highly image heavy. I will still have my critique page of completely finished work, but I think the fact that it takes me so long to write and compose (especially getting studio photos of finished work) is what is putting me off posting them. All posts will be much less formal than they have been previously. I'm hoping to make very regular updates that are up to date with my art and sketchbooks. I'm considering going backwards a bit just to catch up with the past six months (there is NOT a lot of it) but it's not a priority. Right now, I’ll try to post things as they happen. So, to kick it off, here are some completely NOT studio photos of my most recent work. I have yet to take better photos, but I’m practising that “as they happen” thing. ( From the deep end of the mindpool )
